Google Review QR Code Generator

A Google review QR code opens the review box for your business directly, using the Place ID that Google assigns to your listing.

Find it with Google’s Place ID finder, or paste your business name into the finder linked below.

Fill in: Google Place ID

A Google review QR code is a link to the review box for your business, built from the Place ID that Google assigns to every listing. Scanning it takes a customer straight to the star rating and text box, skipping the extra taps needed to find it inside Google Maps.

How to make a Google Review QR Code

  1. Find your Google Place ID using Google's Place ID finder tool, searching for your exact business name and address.
  2. Paste the Place ID into the field below — it usually starts with 'ChIJ'.
  3. Test the code yourself before printing: it should open a screen ready to write a review, not just your listing page.
  4. Download the PNG or SVG and place it somewhere a satisfied customer will see it, such as near the till or on a receipt.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my Google Place ID?

Use Google's own Place ID finder tool, search for your business by its exact name and address, and click the matching pin to reveal the ID. It's a long string, often starting with 'ChIJ' — copy it exactly, since a mistyped character points the code at the wrong business or nowhere.

Is it against Google's policy to ask for reviews with a QR code?

No, asking customers for reviews is allowed. Google's policies do prohibit offering money, discounts, or other incentives in exchange for a review, and prohibit filtering — showing the code only to customers expected to leave a positive one. A neutral sign inviting anyone to leave feedback is fine.

Why does my review code open the listing instead of the review box?

This usually means the code was built from a plain Maps link rather than a Place ID write-review link, or the Place ID was copied incorrectly. Regenerate the code with the exact Place ID from Google's finder tool and test it yourself before reprinting.

Where should a review QR code go in a shop?

Somewhere a customer sees it at a natural pause, such as near the till, on a receipt, or at the table as they finish — not at the entrance, where nobody has an opinion yet. Printed signage works better than a verbal request alone because it gives the customer something to act on immediately.
