WhatsApp QR Code Generator
A WhatsApp QR code opens a chat with your number and can prefill the first message, so a customer only has to press send.
Fill in: Phone number with country code
A WhatsApp QR code is a link that opens a chat with your business number, optionally with a message already typed in. Scanning it with a phone camera opens WhatsApp directly to that conversation, ready to send.
How to make a WhatsApp QR Code
- Enter your phone number with the country code first, such as +91 98765 43210 — the tool strips spaces and symbols automatically.
- Add a prefilled message if you want one, such as 'Hi, I'd like to book a table.'
- Test the code with a phone that does not already have your number saved, to confirm it opens the right chat.
- Download the SVG for print and place it somewhere customers already have a phone in hand, such as near a menu or the till.

| In-app WhatsApp code | No | No — available in both the personal and Business app | Only when scanned inside the WhatsApp app itself, not a general camera |
Frequently asked questions
What number format does a WhatsApp QR code need?
This tool strips spaces, dashes, and the plus sign automatically and keeps only the digits, so type the number however is comfortable as long as the country code comes first — for example 91 98765 43210 for an Indian mobile number. Drop any leading zero used in local dialing; WhatsApp identifies a chat by country code plus number, not local formatting.
Can I prefill the first message?
Yes. Type a message in the optional field and the tool appends it to the link as a text parameter. WhatsApp opens the chat with that text already entered, ready for the customer to edit or send as-is.
Is this the same as the code inside the WhatsApp app?
No. The QR code in WhatsApp's own Settings menu is scanned from inside the app to add a contact, and only works there. This tool makes a wa.me link code that opens with any camera app, whether or not WhatsApp is already running.
Does the customer need my number saved first?
No. A wa.me link opens a chat with your number directly, whether or not the customer has it saved as a contact. WhatsApp still needs to be installed on their phone, and the chat shows your number instead of a business name until they save it.
